ABOUT THE CLUB
The NEIU Cinema Club was founded in the Summer of 2025 by Faculty Advisors, Dr. Shayne Pepper, Dr. Nancy McVittie, and students, Bailey McLaughlin and Christina Georgopoulos. The club’s purpose is to expand students’ knowledge and deepen their understanding of cinema’s impact on culture and history through on-campus screenings and discussion.
We meet every other Tuesday in FA 107 on the Main Campus at 6pm – with fresh popcorn!
Club meetings start with club business, we watch our selected film, and then we discuss the film. Discussions range from what we liked/didn’t like about the film, themes, how those themes emerge in our every day lives, etc.
Screenings are selected by the Executive Team through member submissions.
